Earlier today, the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC)
announced a pilot program that will allow Administrative Law Judges
(ALJs) to issue interim Initial Determinations (IDs) on fewer than
all issues in Section 337 investigations. The announcement can be
found here. The pilot program is part of the
ITC s ongoing efforts to expeditiously resolve Section 337
investigations, either through resolution of issues on the merits
or by facilitating settlement. The pilot program will apply to all

On 5 May 2021, the Department of Intellectual Property (DIP) of
Thailand rejected a Thai patent application for a granulated powder
tablet containing 6-fluoro-3-hydroxy-2-pyrazinecarboxamide, also
known as Favipiravir, which is a drug used to treat viral
infections including COVID-19. Favipiravir has been used in many
countries including Thailand to treat COVID-19 patients.
With the spiking numbers of COVID-19 infections, demand for
Favipiravir has soared with fears of shortage. As Favipiravir can
currently only be imported into the country, Thailand aims to
establish a production hub for the Favipiravir tablets to meet
MPEDA-RGCA’s Mud Crab Hatchery Technology granted patent by Controller General for 20 years
Kochi, May 14 (UNI) In an impressive milestone in India’s aquaculture sector, MPEDA-RGCA’s mud crab hatchery technology, the only one of its kind in the country, has been granted patent by the Controller General of Patent, Design and Trade Marks, Government. of India, for 20 years from 2011 to 2030.
The hatchery technology for mud crab (scientific name – Scylla serrata), a much in demand species in South East Asian countries where live crabs are highly preferred as a delectable seafood, has been developed by the Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Aquaculture (RGCA), the Research and development arm of the Marine Products Export Development Authority (MPEDA).
Color drawings are permitted to be filed with new applications through EFS-WEB, as provided at MPEP 502.05(VIII), and require a petition for entry of color drawings, as provided in MPEP 608.02(VIII).
